General Queries
Does Gimbal require balancing before use?
No. Due to powerful motors, accurate balancing is not needed for Qubo Gimbal. You only need to position it currently as mentioned in the User Manual for proper adjustment.
Does Qubo Gimbal support Gesture Control?
Yes. Connect your phone to the Gimbal, launch the QuboPro app, tap the gesture icon on top right to enable/disable Gesture Control.
What all gestures are supported?
Qubo Gimbal supports the Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down Gesture.
  • Thumbs Up Gesture to start Recording if you are in Video Mode or Click a Photo if you are in Photo Mode.
  • Thumbs Down to Stop Recording if you are in Video Mode.
What is Tracking feature in Gimbal?
  • When you select Tracking feature from QuboPro App, then you can choose between Object Tracking and Face Tracking.
  • In Face Tracking, Gimbal locks a Face which is in front of it and as it moves Gimbal follows it and keeps tracking it.
  • In Object Tracking, Gimbal locks the Whole person present and as it moves Gimbal follows it and keeps tracking it.
How do I switch between Portrait and Landscape orientation?
Power on the Gimbal, and press the Power button once to switch between the two orientations. You can also transition between portrait and landscape by rotating the roll axis manually.
How do I switch between Front and Rear Cameras?
There are 2 methods to do the same-
  • Switch between the front and rear cameras in the QuboPro App
  • Quickly press the Power button thrice to switch
How does Gimbal connect with the QuboPro App?

How do I reset the connected Device?
Press the shutter button and power button on the Gimbal at the same time for 5 seconds
Will the Device name remain the Same or change after resetting?
The Device name will change after Resetting. It will have the same starting format which is GP7_xx the value of xx might change post reset.
How do I control the Zoom functionality on my phone?
Use the adjustable zoom slider on the right side of the handle to zoom in and out. Image quality is subject to the phone's camera performance.
You can also Pinch Zoom from the QuboPro App. Actual Zoom support is dependable on the device.
Is the Gimbal Waterproof?
No
What should I do if the Gimbal is unbalanced after powering on?
Check if the phone has been properly mounted onto the gimbal. Press the power button once to rebalance the Gimbal and press the Mode button once to re-center the Gimbal.
Can I use Gimbal with a phone case?
It is not recommended to use the Gimbal with a Phone Case because it can hamper the general controlling of the Gimbal.
What are all the modes of the Gimbal?
The Gimbal has Four Modes -
  1. All Follow(AF) Mode - The Roll axis is locked, the pan (left/right) and tilt(up/down) will follow the movement of handle.
  2. Half Follow(HF) Mode- Tilt & Roll are locked. Pan axis rotates (left/right) smoothly with the handle.
  3. Lock Full(LF) Mode - Pan, Tilt, Roll axis are all locked. The camera remains still and stable, which means the camera cannot follow the movement of the handle.
  4. First person view(FPV) Mode - Pan, Tilt, Roll axis follow the movement of the handle
Does the Gimbal work with Smartphone’s native camera?
Yes, the basic functionality like Photo Capture, Video Recording works with the Native Camera however for the enhanced functions like Face/Object Tracking, Gesture Control, Panorama, Time-lapse etc. we recommend you to use the QuboPro App.
What are the functionalities of the Shutter Button on the Gimbal?
  • Single Press – Start/Stop Video Recording or Capture Photo
  • Double Press – Pause the recording (through QuboPro App only)
  • Triple Press – Capture Pictures during recording (through QuboPro App only)
What are the functionalities of the Power Button on the Gimbal?
  • Single Press – Switch Horizontal to Vertical/ Recalibrate the Gimbal
  • Double Press - Switch Photo/Video Mode (through QuboPro App only)
  • Triple Press – Switch between Front/Rear (through QuboPro App only)
  • Press for One Second – Power On/Off the Gimbal
What are the functionalities of the Mode Button on the Gimbal?
  • Single Press – Switch between the Four Modes
  • Double Press – Smartphone back to center
  • Triple Press – Enables Tracking (through QuboPro App only)

Can I use the features like Tracking, Gestures, Time-lapse and Panorama in Portrait Orientation?

Yes

Can I use the features like Tracking, Gestures, Time-lapse and Pano with Front and Rear Cameras both?

Yes

Can I adjust the Joystick Speed with the QuboPro App?

Yes. Under Settings you will find an option named Joystick Settings to change the Speed parameters.

Can I Reverse the Pan and Tilt functionality on the Gimbal?

Yes. Under Settings you will find an option named Joystick Settings to change the parameters.

Can I set the Zoom with the QuboPro App?

Yes

What is the maximum limit the Zoom functionality can work on?

It depends from Smartphone to Smartphone how much it supports.

What are the Modes available on the QuboPro App? Are they different from the Gimbal device?

In QuboPro App, when you choose Modes then you find 6 options – Sports, Walking, All Follow, Half Follow, Lock Follow, FPV

Four Modes are same as present on the Gimbal Device and the other 2 modes i.e. Sports and Walking are more for the stabilization point of view of the Gimbal so that the Gimbal remains stable in that particular activity.

Can I change the Video Resolution?

Yes. The Video resolution settings depends on your phone camera.

Will changing the resolution in QuboPro App also affect my phone’s video resolution?

No

During Recording, does the QuboPro App shows how much storage space is remaining on the phone?

No

Where are photos and videos captured by the QuboPro App stored?

All photos and videos are stored in the Phone’s Gallery

Can I use external microphone connected to the smartphone when recording with the QuboPro App?

Yes

How do I charge the Gimbal?

You can charge the Gimbal via the Type-C USB charging port on the left side of the handle

Can I use the Gimbal while it is being charged?

Yes

How do I know if the Battery of the Gimbal is getting Low?
On the Gimbal, 4 lights on the bottom of the Gimbal represents battery level.
  • If All 4 are blue, then battery level is 75% to 100%
  • If 3 are blue, then battery level is 50 to 74%
  • If 2 are blue, then battery level is 25 to 49%
  • If only 1 is blue, then battery level is 0 to 24%

You can also check the Battery Level from the QuboPro App indicator. It also notifies when the Battery is getting low.

For how much time does a fully charged Gimbal can operate?

How long does it take to charge a fully discharged Gimbal?

How to connect the Gimbal with the Phone for the first time?

Please download the QuboPro App from App Store or Play Store and select Qubo Gimbal from the list of Devices. Then follow the Steps shown on the Screen to connect the Gimbal with App.

What should I do if I want to connect the Gimbal to another phone?

Press the shutter button and power button at the same time on the Gimbal device

What should I do when the Gimbal is connected to my phone but not functioning?

  • Turn off the Gimbal
  • Clear the previous connection in the Bluetooth setting of your smartphone. Disable and then enable the Bluetooth of the smartphone;
  • Restart QuboPro App.
