Qubo Smart Dashcam 4G Live FAQs
Basic Introduction & Key Features
What is the Qubo Dashcam 4G Live?

It’s a smart dashcam with built-in 4G LTE and 2K QHD recording, designed for real-time monitoring, instant alerts, and reliable driving evidence.

How is it different from regular Wi-Fi dashcams?

Unlike Wi-Fi dashcams, it works with a SIM card, enabling live streaming, remote alerts, and cloud backup of events even when you’re away from the car.

Does it record audio along with video?

Yes. By default, the dashcam records both audio and video. If you prefer not to record audio, you can disable audio recording anytime from the Qubo Pro App settings.

What is the field of view of the camera?

It has a wide viewing angle to capture maximum coverage of the road ahead.

Does it record clearly at night?

Yes, it records in 2K QHD (1296p) with optimized low-light clarity for nighttime use.

Does it support cloud storage?

Yes, but only critical event videos are backed up to the cloud when on 4G. Continuous recording is stored on the SD card.

What type of SD card should I use?

We recommend using a Class U3/V30 microSD card, up to 1TB for best performance. The dashcam records in 1296p (2K QHD) onto the SD card, while the app shows an optimized SD-quality stream over LTE to ensure smooth viewing without heavy data usage.

What is Parking Mode?

Parking Mode keeps your car under watch even when the ignition is off. With the Hardwiring Kit installed, the dashcam stays in a low-power state and only activates when a jolt or impact is detected. It then records the event and sends you a push notification.

Does Parking Mode support live streaming?

No. To save battery, live streaming is disabled in Parking Mode. Only event-triggered recordings are captured and stored.

What is Valet Mode?

Valet Mode is designed for situations where you hand over your car at service centres, hotels, or mall parking. It reduces unnecessary alerts but still protects your car by enabling a limited notification set.

What alerts do I get in Valet Mode?
  • Ride start alert
  • Jolt alert
  • Idling alert
  • Auto geofence alert (200m–2km)
What is Towing Detection?

If your car is towed while parked, the dashcam detects unusual movement and sends you a Towing Alert through the app, along with a short video clip.

Does Towing Detection work without the Hardwiring Kit?

No. It requires the Hardwiring Kit, as the dashcam must stay powered while the ignition is off.

What is Geo-fencing in the dashcam?

Geo-fencing lets you create a virtual boundary around your parked car. If the vehicle leaves this zone, you receive an instant alert.

How do I set up a Geo-fence?

In the Qubo Pro App, enable Valet Mode and select the auto-geofence option. You can choose a radius between 200m and 2km around your car’s location.

When should I use Geo-fencing?

When leaving your car with valet drivers, at service stations, or in unsafe parking locations.

Setup & Installation
What comes inside the box?

Dashcam unit, adapter, cable, adhesive mount, electrostatic sticker, SIM ejector, pry tool, and QR card.

Do I need professional installation?

No, it’s DIY-friendly. For Parking Mode, the optional Hardwiring Kit may need professional help.

Where should I place the dashcam?

On the windshield behind the rearview mirror, without blocking the driver’s view.

What type of SIM card is supported?

The dashcam supports a nano SIM with an active 4G data plan. It has been tested and qualified with Airtel, Vodafone Idea, and Jio SIMs (both prepaid and postpaid). Other providers, including BSNL or international roaming SIMs, are not officially supported.

Can I use the dashcam without a SIM card?

Yes. It will work in Wi-Fi mode, but without remote access and cloud features.

How do I set it up with the Qubo Pro App?

Download the app, sign in, add device → select Dashcam 4G Live → follow prompts to pair via SIM (4G) or Wi-Fi hotspot.

Can I move the dashcam between cars?

Yes, but you’ll need to remount it and re-route the power cable each time.

Connectivity & Compatibility
Which app is required?

The Qubo Pro App (free on iOS & Android).

Can multiple users access the dashcam?

Yes, you can share access with family members via the app.

Can two people view live video at the same time?

Does it support 5G SIMs?

Will it work outside India?

Can I switch between 4G and Wi-Fi?

Yes, you can toggle between cellular mode and Wi-Fi hotspot mode in the app.

Does it work with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto?

Yes, but disconnect Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto temporarily during app pairing.

Daily Usage
Does the dashcam start recording automatically?

Yes, it begins recording when the ignition is on.

Does it record when the ignition is off?

Yes, only if Parking Mode (via Hardwiring Kit) is enabled.

What is Valet Mode?

What is ARM Mode?

A security mode that sends push alerts and captures video on events like ride start, towing, or jolts.

How do I view and download videos?

Which operators are supported?

All major 4G providers in India (Jio, Airtel, Vi).

Can I change the SIM later?

Yes, you can replace the SIM anytime (with the device powered off).

Does it work if my SIM runs out of data?

Yes, recordings continue on the SD card, but remote access and cloud backup stop until data is available.

Does the dashcam reconnect to 4G automatically?

Yes, it auto-reconnects whenever the signal returns.

Do I need a subscription to use the dashcam?

No subscription is required for core functions. The dashcam records in 2K QHD (1296p) on the SD card, provides live view over LTE/Wi-Fi, and allows you to download and share videos through the Qubo Pro App without any subscription.

What features work without a subscription?

  1. Continuous recording on SD card
  2. Event-based recording (jolts, ride start/stop)
  3. Live view (over LTE/Wi-Fi)
  4. Manual snapshots and video downloads
  5. GPS logging (speed, route, location)
  6. Two-way talk

What features require a subscription?

Currently, critical event cloud backup and remote access features are bundled with the SIM data plan and do not need a separate Qubo subscription. If premium services are introduced in the future (like extended cloud storage or AI analytics), they will be clearly communicated.

Cloud Play
What is Cloud Play and what extra features does it offer?

Cloud Play is Qubo’s cloud-based subscription service that allows you to securely store important driving footage online. Trip Preview provides a quick visual summary of your entire journey. It consists of multiple screenshots captured during the trip, each showing the time and location of when it was taken. This helps you easily review your route and key moments directly within the Qubo App.

What is Valet Mode?

Valet Mode is a smart security feature designed for situations when your car is handled by someone else—such as at service centres, hotels, or mall parking areas. When activated, it enables a limited set of notifications (like towing, jolt, idling, and ride alerts) to prevent spam while still maintaining essential security. Valet Mode also automatically creates a Geo-fence (ranging from 200m to 2km) around the parked location, ensuring you get alerts if your car moves beyond the set boundary.

  1. Ride Alert
  2. Auto Geo-fence
  3. Idling Alert
  4. Jolt Alert
What is ARM Mode?

ARM Mode is an advanced security feature that protects your car when parked in unsafe or unattended locations. (This feature works only with the Hardwiring Kit.)
